Family portal
Parents see lessons, notes, progress, term reports and invoices, pay by card and message the school from their phone.

A student in Muzeqo is a person, not a row: their instruments, their guardians and billing contact, their lesson types and prices, their notes, repertoire and progress — with each role seeing exactly the part that is theirs.
Each student record carries their instruments, status (trial, active, paused, waiting list, archived), a photo, the host school they attend lessons at, their lesson types and prices, and the guardians linked to them. A guardian can be linked to several children and is the billing contact for the family; an adult student is their own contact and gets the family portal for themselves. Under-18s are guardian-centred by default, so the parent — not the child — receives invoices, reminders and messages.
Teachers write notes from the lesson, on their phone, straight after it. Every note has a visibility the school controls: visible to the parent or student, admin and teacher only, or teacher only (when the school allows private notes). The default for new notes is set once under Settings → Messaging & safety, so nothing reaches a family by accident.
Alongside notes, each student has a musical picture: the pieces they are working on and have finished, each at a stage the teacher sets, the goals, exams and performances ahead of them, and how their level has moved. Pieces typed once join the school’s own repertoire library, so the next teacher who types the title is offered it. Families see whatever is marked visible.
At the end of term the office has a roster of every student by teacher, and each teacher writes the report in set boxes and shares it. The family reads it in its portal, prints it or saves it as a PDF, and is told when it is ready. Muzeqo AI can draft one report, or a whole class in a batch, from the notes already marked visible to the family — always for the teacher to read and change before anything is shared, and only where the school has Muzeqo AI switched on.
A group is a named folder of students that shares one session — one time, one room, one teacher, one slot on the calendar. Attendance, notes, price and invoices stay per student, and a family only ever sees its own child’s place, never who else is in the group. Groups have a name, description, colour, size limit and a free-text folder label (a campus, a partner school, a program).
Teachers see only the students assigned to them or in their groups. Office roles see everyone, with finance roles alone seeing money. Families see their linked children. These rules are Postgres row-level security policies, so they hold for every page, export and feed — not just the ones with the right buttons.

Summary, repertoire, practice goals, next lesson focus and a message to the family, each note visible to the family, to admin and teacher, or teacher only, with a school default and optional private teacher notes.
In a group session the note form offers to save the note for every student in the session; each family only ever sees its own child’s copy.
A teacher’s rough lines become the note boxes to check and save, sharing only first name and instrument (no name at all for a group note), under a per-school switch and an hourly cap; needs Muzeqo AI on for the school.
Each student’s pieces with a status from assigned to performed, drawn from the school’s own books, goals, exams and performances with dates and results, and level history; families see what is marked visible and hear of completions.
Add a method book’s contents page so its pieces appear as teachers type, with book, exercise or page and a video link.
A roster per term and teacher; teachers write an end-of-term report in set boxes and share it, and families read, print or save it as a PDF.
One report now, or a whole class in batch, drafted from family-visible notes for the teacher to review before sharing; needs Muzeqo AI on for the school.
A teacher records a short video in the browser or uploads one for one student, optionally against a piece; families watch and send a practice video back; a School-plan feature.
Each school’s enrolment page at its own link, switched on by the school and indexable, plus a compact version framed on the school’s website by a script that follows the frame height; submissions land in the office’s queue.
Opt-in teacher profiles by instrument, per school and per teacher, indexed for search, with Enrol with this teacher opening the school’s form, no contact details and photos stripped of metadata.
A teacher’s public profile draft is approved by the office before anything changes on the public page, and free text that contains an e-mail, link, handle or phone number is refused so contact goes through the school’s enrolment form.
The office drafts, publishes and closes teaching jobs with required checks; each open job carries Google JobPosting markup and an apply form with CV upload and consent, the office records each check (WWCC, registration, right to work) against the official register with the ABN looked up on the ABR for the office to confirm, and a hired applicant can be invited as staff.
Built, not yet switched on: a CV built from the teacher’s teaching record across schools plus what they add (about me, education, repertoire taught), to print, save as PDF or share by a revocable private link with a view count; the school sets how it is named.
